Bill Robertson - Director/Writer

Bill Robertson started writing screenplays at the age of twenty when he realized that he was not suited to a career in any of the courses he was taking at the University of Toronto. After graduating with a degree in Economics, Bill promptly enrolled in the Masters in Fine Art (Film) programme at York University where he wrote, produced and directed the short film TAT and produced the low-budget feature thriller DEAR JOHN with classmate Cathy Ord. Both films premiered at the Montreal International Film Festival.

Upon graduating from York, Bill wrote, produced and directed his first feature, the critically acclaimed audience favourite THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO MY DEATH. He also co-edited the film, co-wrote the music and performed on the soundtrack. THE EVENTS played across Canada (including a three-month run in Toronto), and at festivals around the world. It was awarded the Best Canadian Screenplay Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
