Derek Rogers csc - Director of Photography

One of Canada's hottest emerging talents, award-winning cinematographer Derek Rogers began his career shooting documentaries and short dramas in the independent scene in Toronto after graduating from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1986. With ten feature films to his credit, Derek has made a mark for himself in both Canadian and International cinema with such films as THE SOUL INVESTIGATOR, NEW WATERFORD GIRL and most notably, Vincenzo Natali's sci-fi feature CUBE.

Capturing praise for its visual look and style, CUBE created a great buzz when it premiered at the Toronto, Sundance and Berlin film festivals. Gaining admiration from critics and fimmakers such as David Cronenberg who described the film as "ruthlessly beautiful", Rogers was featured in an article in the March 1998 Issue of American Cinematographer and celebrated by his peers when awarded the 1998 Canadian Society of Cinematographers award for Best Feature.
